Lara Nesar Nobari
I am a licensed Architect in Alberta, Canada, and a Project Manager with over 16 years of Canadian architectural experience. I worked with several high-profile firms including McKay Hlavacek Architects Ltd and Norr. Prior to that, I completed my Master’s of Architects Degree from Iran. I am passionate about mentoring architects seeking to be licensed in Canada. Having successfully navigated the shift from international practice to managing complex projects in healthcare, residential, and commercial sectors, I understand the unique challenges faced by architects arriving from abroad. Young and newcomer architects often encounter construction-related hurdles such as mastering local building codes, adapting to climate-specific construction methods, and aligning with client and contractor expectations based on Canadian standards.
With my extensive knowledge of Canadian construction practices, including compliance with the National Building Code (Alberta Edition 2024), and experience in managing large-scale healthcare projects, I offer practical guidance to help young and newcomer architects navigate these complexities. From understanding regional construction materials to managing project timelines, I ensure they can confidently approach every project stage.
In addition to technical mentorship, I also guide architects through the accreditation process toward their professional license in Canada. I help them navigate the steps required for registration with architectural associations, ensuring they understand the documentation, examination requirements, and pathways to achieving their license.
As a mentor, I can offer advice on the following:
✅ Architect licensing pathways, and provincial requirements
