Ali Reza Ladak
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of British Columbia, completed in 2012. My career began as a full-time pharmacist at Shoppers Drug Mart before transitioning to academia as an Assistant Professor of Teaching at UBC. With over a decade of experience in the field, I have a deep understanding of licensing requirements in British Columbia and offer comprehensive career advice to aspiring pharmacists.
I have a strong commitment to integrating technology-enhanced learning methodologies and have significantly contributed to curriculum development and renewal. Notably, I co-developed the Integration Activities (IA) curriculum for the third year of UBC’s entry-to-practice (E2P) PharmD program, ensuring students receive a comprehensive, hands-on education. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I spearheaded the creation of novel assessments and adapted courses to online formats, demonstrating adaptability and innovation in teaching.
My professional qualifications include certifications in Compassionate Integrity Training, Opioid Agonist Treatment, Physical Assessment for Pharmacists, and Instructional Skills. Additionally, I am a registered pharmacist with injection certification and hold Emergency First Aid with CPR-C/AED certification. My dedication to teaching and mentorship has been recognized with several awards, including the Fourth Year Teaching Prize in 2016.
With my diverse background, I am dedicated to mentoring the next generation of pharmacy professionals, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their careers. I offer mentees a well-rounded perspective on pharmaceutical education and practice, preparing them for success in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.
